AGM Weekend Arrangements
We try to make the AGM into an enjoyable weekend break to encourage attendance and cheer us up during the long cold winter
months. This year we decided to hold the AGM in the South of England and have chosen Portsmouth because it offers many nautical
attractions suitable for a winter visit. We are holding the meeting in the Queens
Hotel which is a splendid Edwardian building in Southsea overlooking the Solent and Isle of Wight. This is a three-star
hotel noted for its excellent cuisine. From the hotel you can walk to Portsmouth and the
Historic Dockyard. Hence you can on Saturday visit the Mary Rose, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, the D-Day Museum,
Gunwharf Quays Shopping Centre (for retail therapy) or just walk along the sea front looking at the yachts going
in and out of Portsmouth harbour.
For those travelling from outside the area wishing to stay overnight, the Queens Hotel is offering the following rates to
PSSA members for one night bed and breakfast: single £65, double £85 family £118. Please contact the hotel yourself to book a room and do this early if you want to get a room with a sea view.
