Weymouth - The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration
Sat 2nd - Fri 8th June 2012 (school half term week)

Everyone is invited to Weymouth to join the PSSA River Wey Pageant!

This sounds so much better than "the Weymouth Rally" and is in keeping with country-wide festivities. You will want to remember to bring your dress flags, bunting, patriotic hats and flags to wave by hand.

With The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee falling on Saturday 2nd June, a bank holiday on Monday and the Jubilee public holiday following on Tuesday 5th June, there is sure to be a lot going on and a fantastic atmosphere. Half term week falls in early June this year, and June is an abbreviation of Flaming June, so everything is set for a perfect week.

Save £850! I have spoken with the Harbour Master and his crew are looking forward to welcoming us, and at normal berthing rates. If you saw the Olympic berthing rates quoted in Sailing Today, this represents huge savings. Just think how you can spend all that money you have saved!

To ensure a personal welcome, do please send me your details if you plan to join.

Saturday-Sunday: Make your way to Weymouth. Crew Vol-au-vent aims to reach Weymouth as quickly as possible. Others may opt to stop en-route.

Monday-Wednesday: Day sailing for the adventurous. Beach, crabbing & fishing for the rest. On Tuesday, dinner in excellent Ghurkha multi-cuisine buffet restaurant, £12/head.

Thursday /Friday: Head towards Solent, in time to join PSSA Round The Island Race. Please book your own berth in Yarmouth (pay in advance).

Saturday: PSSA RIOW Yarmouth to Cowes.

Note: this is a flexible, weather-dependant plan

Rally arrangements

We aim to berth in the Cove on the left side after the lifeboat. The Harbour Master would appreciate it if we brief him in advance.
