Limmershin has various additional features:

  • The guard wires have gates port and starboard which means no jumping over them when coming alongside or when moored up.
  • There is a spray hood from which the old canvas could be used as a template to re-cover the frame.
  • There is a small inflatable tender (no engine) and it may need a bit of attention.
  • Various mooring lines and spare rope.

  • Apart from the new sails there is one other serviceable set and a spinnaker.
  • The ropes and blocks are all available.
  • The second main has been reduced in size to the first reef on purpose and is a loose-footed sail now.
  • This was done because the Super Seal is a bit tender above force 4 and by a force 5 the first reef is very advisable.
  • The logic behind the cut down main is if the weather forecast includes a 5 or above it is not useful to over stretch a new main and the cut down main can be hoisted instead. The work was done professionally by Saunders.

Limmershin has just been valeted (Feb 19) and is under cover. She is available on her road trailer in my drive in Corfe Mullen and ready to go.
