Bridport outer harbour ( inner harbour reserved for locals) faces SE so think carefully before going in an Easterly with any ‘south’ .

 You can ring the Harbour master  to check, or go on line and look at their web cam, you’ll see if the lightweight pontoons are bouncing around.

The most Easterly pontoon is reserved for commercial stuff.

 We were in the ‘middle’ of the 4 pontoons and had good sleep but used long spring lines.

 Some of the metal ‘cleats’ have pulled out of the pontoons and the odd one  has bent so it could gouge the hull, so keep an eye open coming in. We used lots of fenders.

 There a loo and shower on a key with the harbourmaster, so only available daytimes, but he was happy to drop what he was doing to open up for us. If not there, the public loos on East head are 24/7 and we found clean.

Next to the loo’s is a charity museum which is ok, and they do local tours which are really good for learning about the place.

 Both beaches good for sunbathing and swimming.

 There’s a yellow ‘harbour cafe’  which serves amazingly good pizza at competitive prices.

Watch house cafe has a good name for fish.

We liked’the George’ but the other pubs also had good beer.

 The coast path tone Easts cordoned off ( rock fall) but you can walk up the west cliff if you have the urge to get hot walking.
