It's unusual to see any yachts in this small harbour on the North Pembrokeshire coast, but it's worth visiting if you're nearby. It's between St Davids Head and Strumble Head, and convenient if you've missed the tide for Ramsey sound.
As it dries, you'll need to enter and leave above half tide; HW is around Milford Haven HW +0050. If you're early, pick up one of the fishing boat's buoys in the entrance. Approaching from St Davids, keep well clear of the Abereiddy Sledges, but there are no dangers coming from Strumble. There are daymarks on the headlands either side of the entrance, but only the eastern one is easy to spot, as the western one is too inaccessible to be painted regularly.
The entrance is narrow, any you need to turn sharply to starboard once you're in. There are usually a couple of fishing boats behind the harbour wall, and I usually just pick up one of the many mooring lines until I decide what to do next. The ground is sand, except near the jetty where it's a bit gravelly.
There's an excellent restaurant, The Shed, a good pub, The Sloop, and excellent clifftop walks - it's about half an hour to Traeth Llyfn which is lovely at low water.
