The visit to Fareham SMBC (sailing & motor boat club) is actually on, so long as Covid regulations do not change. The plan is to have a ‘bring your own grub’ BBQ as before. Fareham will provide the BBQ and Carol will do the salads and hot potatoes; you bring meat, fish or whatever you want to cook. The additional attraction this year, by popular request, will be a ‘wine whist’. Please bring a bottle of wine per couple if you wish to partake. If possible, bring a selection of red, rosé or white but only one will be used. Last time we ended up with nearly all red wine so it would be good to have a variety. Please know the price you paid for the wine.
It is a Bank Holiday weekend so avoid the traffic by coming by boat but if the weather is foul or for other reasons, please do not hesitate to come by car.
Mooring and showers are free at Fareham so long as you spend enough over the bar. Please note the bar is card only. Mooring is available on the club pontoon but please keep the yellow section, the north end, free for club members. Alternative moorings will be available at the Salterns pontoons downstream.
Saturday: HW Portsmouth 16.15 (4.4m), LW 21.16 (1.5m)
Bar will open (c/o Nondikass) from 5.00 to 7.00pm for
drinks on the balcony whilst BBQ cooking.
Sunday: HW Portsmouth 04.21 (4.1m), LW 09.30 (1.6m)
HW Portsmouth 16.47 (4.2m)
Notes: If approaching from the west,
tide changes at Gilkicker 2 hours + before HW.
Allow 45 mins to 1 hour for Fareham to/from harbour entrance.
Tides are running into neaps and there should be sufficient
water for lift-keelers better than 2 hours either side of low
water.
Please contact Phil & Carol (OC, Macoma) if you are intending to come so numbers for berths and catering can be estimated.
