This is the same weekend as the Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend (Thursday 15 - Sunday 18 September) so you have a choice of PSSA Rallies.
RVYC Pontoon
The rally is timed for the neapiest neap tides of 2022! Lowest Portsmouth tide: 1.9m at 2205 Saturday - depth about 1m at the outer end and 0.5m at landward end of RVYC pontoon so Seals should not touch the mud at all. One or two deep water moorings for fin/bilge keelers could be arranged in advance.
Please contact me (not the Club) to book pontoon space for SAT/SUN nights. £2.00 per metre/night - pay at the Club Bar on arrival.
Food and drink
Saturday 1800 - pontoon drinks and nibbles
The Club Bar and Catering plans to be operating both days from lunchtime as long as there is demand. We can decide nearer the time depending on participants and weather - perhaps eat in the Club on Saturday night and have a BYOBBQ on Sunday.
Sunday 'Expedition'
Possibilities include:
Dinghy/kayak to Woodside Beach for picnic and walk.
Dinghy/kayak to The Sloop Inn at the head of Wootton Creek (afternoon)
Bus to a pub and walk back or vice versa (or walk both ways!).
Bike to end of Ryde Pier and/or Seaview.
Bus to Osborne House (open 1000-1700)
At the Club
Firepit in the evenings or, if inclement weather, illustrated talk: The yacht Mischief (1873-1933) - progenitor of the Seals.
Please sign up as soon as possible by emailing me with the following information as well as entering your name on the website.
Boat name etc, intended draft, no of people, pontoon nights SAT/SUN and possible numbers for SAT Pontoon Party/Club catering/BYOBBQ SAT/SUN (not advance bookings)
