BBQ at the old quay on the Butley River, off the river Ore, Suffolk.
UPDATE 25/7/22
In view of dry weather giving rise to a fire risk, not withstanding Fire Brigade advice to avoid fires/BBQs , I think we are better and safer to make this a picnic rather than a BBQ, which I think is the sensible and prudent approach. it will still be an enjoyable evening. Hope you all agree!
UPDATE 19/7/22
Suggesting 6.00 pm start.
Orford Haven high tide is 13.25, so guess it will be high tide in the Butley circa 14.00.
Suggest bring your own food to BBQ, I will have our Magma (metal) BBQ and a disposable one, so sharing BBQ should be easy, but please feel free to bring yor own if you want to.
Please be advised that the ladder on the old quay was dangerous and was removed last year, close to high tide you can land and transfer "stores ertc", but by 6.00 pm it will be getting on for low tide, so we have to land at ferry pier/staging and walk up, "stores etc" can be still off loaded at quay from dingy with sling/bucket and rope, or similar arrangement!!
Weather looking fine at present, but if poor then the Orford pubs could be a back up.
