Super Seal 26 No. 112 "Pindara"

Lift-keel yacht Pindara, a highly regarded Superseal 26, last one made before Parker Yachts reworked them and raised the deck height (sailing Today magazine nominated Superseal 26 as one of 5 best used yacht designs).

Lovely condition, excellent sailing qualities, very comfortable under sail and surprisingly roomy below decks, and capable of much better passage times than many most other boats. We did Boulogne to Harwich in 16hrs non stop, no engine needed! - video here.

Can be ideal boat for family sails, as she will happily beach on sand, shore, when tide goes out, and perfect for mooring/anchoring in creeks (very cheap), goes where others can't reach, only 1 ft draught with keel up.

Bukh diesel engine utterly reliable, low hours since rebuilt. These are seriously tough engines, uncomplicated, have good reputation. Unused since service this Spring. Many spares, and original Bukh tool kit included.

Very well equipped:

  • Recent Autohelm,
  • Rod kicker
  • 2 x Bruce anchors and substantial rode
  • Sterling 4 step alternator charge controller
  • Solar panel + regulator
  • Fixed GPS
  • Yeoman Digitised Plotter
  • Kerosene Blown-air heating
  • Top quality foam berth cushions
  • Spinnaker Pole
  • long Whisker Pole
  • Mast ladder climb system
  • Improved keel lift system and rudder controls
  • Fuel tank replaced
  • Folding propellor
  • Gorgeous Andersen 2 speed stainless sheet winches
  • 4 other winches, plus batteries of rope clutches for the many control lines led aft.
  • Cooker is Origo 2 burner Meths type, simple and very safe.
  • RM sea toilet
  • Spinaker Snuffer
  • Etc.

Generally kept in good state of maintenance, engine serviced, gear renewed and repaired (e.g. Rod kicker gas spring just replaced, new solid Iroko washboards) in timely order as she's regularly used (I can't abide gear that snags and snarls up). Windpeed isn't working, as cups have just blown off, need replacing at mast head. Depth/Log was replaced last year. Never ever a drop of water comes in, totally dry below (Volvo triples shaft seal helps here)

2 suits sails, inc spinnaker, storm jib, No 2 Genoa. Using Fully-battened main at moment, in a Stackpack zip cover, genoa on a very effective Hood furling system. All quite serviceable (see the video), but naturally some sails showing signs of use.

Lying at Pinmill on the Orwell, with potential for taking over my mooring there (no fees, totally FOC so long as you become member of Pinmill Sailing Club ~£50/yr). In a lovely position just upriver from the hard, in this most scenic part of Suffolk.

Can be a very easy yet rewarding boat to sail, easily balanced, good helm, and works really well single-handed as she's set up now. Previous owners from new, were into their 70s and still regularly undertaking passages across to Netherlands, and more. She can be easily managed once familiar with her set up.

She's been well cared for, and now reluctantly selling after > 15 years, as we're sailing away from UK. Priced realistically, to sell, well below others on market and local broker's valuation.
