Super Seal 26 No. 51 "Saluja"

  • After nearly 20 years of ownership, we have reluctantly decided to sell our beloved Saluja with a view to buying something a little bigger next season.
  • She has been maintained on a 'no expense spared' basis for the whole of our ownership, during which time we have kept completely on top of maintenance and renewal/refurbishment as necessary.
  • We have had a huge amount of fun in her to include cruising and racing on the South Coast, one season in Scotland, 5 seasons down the Biscay coast and through the canals to the Mediterranean, and back, and 2 seasons in the Dutch Waterways. Her lifting keel configuration is nothing short of brilliant for some of the trips we have accomplished.
  • She is at present afloat at Emsworth, in Chichester Harbour. She will be lifted as part of our club's joint 'crane out' on 20th/21st October 2018. If you want to see her afloat, or take a trial sail, then keep this date in mind.

Part 1 Registered - Official Number 389304
Sail Number - 5439Y
LOA: 26' 4" (8 m)
LWL: 23' 4" (7.1m)
Beam: 9' 3" (2.74m)
Draft: Keel Up - 1' 1" (33 cm), Down - 5' 0" (1.52m)

Builder: John Baker, Devon to a design by Ron Holland, Hull Number: 51 (1979)
Construction: White GRP Hull with Grey GRP deck GRP Dagger Board GRP Transom hung Rudder 7/8 Fractional Sloop rig
Hull: was treated by the previous owner with several coats of Gelshield and is in as good a condition as the day she was built. She has been lifted every winter and, as part of our club crane out, the mast has been removed and stored under cover. This has allowed inspection of the mast and renewal of anything needed.
Engine/Stern Gear: Yanmar 1GM10 with propshaft and 2 bladed Darglow folding propeller. The boat was originally an outboard boat so the original hatch allows access to the propeller if you get it fouled (VERY useful in the French canals!)

  • The particulars detailed above are intended to give a fair description of the vessel but their accuracy cannot be guaranteed.
  • A half tide mooring, at Emsworth, may be available by separate negotiation.
  • Boat comes with a wheeled and steerable launching/storage cradle - slightly heavy but an excellent bit of kit.
  • The remains of a road trailer are still available - it was used to trail her, behind a Range Rover, to Scotland for the 2005 season. I am sure the frame is still sound but it would need all running gear renewing.
  • Asking price is £12,500 - and any sensible offer would be considered.
