Hello all.

I'd like to make up, or have made, an A frame for my 235 (65) to make mast raising/lowering easier single handed. so I'm looking for advice or the benefit of previous experience using one.

If anyone out there has one or can offer any advice with measurements or design I would be very grateful!

Regards

Andy

Hi Andy,

I am probably not the best to ask for information on lowering and raising the mast as I have only ever done it twice - in both directions!

I do, however, have an A frame, which made things 'relatively' simple. It consists of two metal poles, 2.5m in length, 4cm in diameter, with wooden'feet' with ties and inserted into the poles; joined at the top with a bolt. Not perhaps terribly descriptive but I could send you pictures, Let me know if your email is as per the handbook - the webmaster seems to have an aversion to posting pics here.

In addition I have a detailed account - which I inherited - on lowering the mast and could scan and send if required.

Regards;

Hi John.

Many thanks for the reply. The email address on the association list should get to me - and I would be very grateful for some pics if that is not too much trouble for you.

I am particularly interested in the whereabouts that the 'feet' are situated in terms of the tabernacle - I understand these should be positioned in line with the hinge point ie the bolt .

There isn't a convenient stanchion at that point so I presume I must make something so the 'feet' of the A frame can be positioned there.

Thanks very much.

Hi John.

Regret nothing has popped up yet..?

Is it the gmx.co.uk account you are sending it to..?

If that is not working maybe maybe try ketchpsalter@gmail.com.. Gmail usually always works..!

Many thanks for your efforts ...

Regards
