Most months, Sea Teach chandlery in Emsworth advertises in the magazines a widget called "the tacker" (http://www.seateach.com/Tacker.asp ), which fits around a furled genoa and purports to allow one to use a conventional symmetrical spinnaker as a cruising chute by providing an anchor point for one corner which then becomes the chute's tack. Does anyone have experience of using the aforementioned widget and can advise on whether the thing works as advertised?
