I've just discovered Michael Perham who completed his solo crossing of the Atlantic yesterday is a second cousin of mine - well done Michael! Amazing that Radio 2 are discussing it right now and people are moaning that he should have been in school!!!! I wonder where he would learn more to equip him for life?

Stephen

Well you could go part way to impressing us if you sailed your new 235 to the Isle of Mull rather than training it[;)]

Well Don of course I wouldsail my new boat back to Mull but, oh dear, how would I get the trailer here....what a shame! I suppose I'll have to trail it after all (which might actually be more eventful!).[;)]

Paul: I briefly considered the Tide 28 but it is much in the MacGregor mould - takes a huge engine and is thus trying to be all things to all people. Tho' it appears to have acquited itself well here!

A thing in the RYA mag just come says the boat did 17 knots at one point. But it must have run out of petrol 'cos Gib to Antigua in 6 weeks is 2.9 knots average!
