When I bought my Superseal, the broker said that he thought about ten had been made with fixed keels.

For no other reason than mere interest, I wonder if these can be identified, and, maybe, noted in the 2006 handbook.

Mine is the deeper keel 5' 3" draft version.

I owned SS26 sail No 60 in Dubai in 1979-81 which was the only lifting keel of the fleet, there were 5 fixed keel 26's (as well as a busy fleet fleet of 22's).

Interestingly the lifting keel version always seemed to get to windward quicker than the fixed keel versions.

Thank you, do you happen the know the sail numbers of the other five?

Was the going to windward in heavy or light conditions?

I know of 3 in the Gulf. I purchased Antar 88 in November 05 and Zeta 94 is berthed alongside at Dubai Offshore Sailing Club. Scimitar ? is in Kuwait. (Antar was a legendary Arab warrior, Zeta his horse and Scimitar his sword).
