Hi Folks,

Looking at the sacrificial anode on my propshaft by the propellor after craning out last season, I was surprised by the uneven wear. While one half was considerably eroded, the other half was almost untouched. As the two halves were new and clamped around a clean shaft at the beginning of the season, I am quite surprised at this uneven wear. I don't recall uneven wear from the previous season. My in-hull anode was in good condition last year and this year.

Has anyone else noticed something similar and does it point to anything sinister?

Cheers-Ken

Really this could only be one of two things. Either one half had been covered with antifouling or grease or something, or it was made of a none-corrodable substance. So long as one half worked and there was some part of it left when you lifted out I shouldn't worry about it.
