Seal Sailing Association celebration of 25 years of Parker construction

Hi All – this coming weekend, we have our Beaulieu River rally in Hampshire. As this coincides with the 25th anniversary of Bill Parker taking over production of Seals and now Parkers, we have something to celebrate nationally. We are delighted that Bill Parker and family will join us. We encourage people from all parts of all countries to come and celebrate, by boat, by car, or by plane!

Jonathan Houston +44 7774 237075 is rally organiser, so BE SURE TO REGISTER WITH JONATHAN. We need to know how much food to bring on the day.

ARRIVAL SATURDAY

o Please use VHF CHANNEL 8 for rally communications.

o Berthing will be on moorings in the Beaulieu River, past the marina. To make life easy for you, we have a non-stop and free taxi service between moorings and shore. Look out for dory “Poubelle”, and let’s use call sign “SEAL TAXI” on CHANNEL 8 to make life simple. Alternatively call mobile phone 07836 208569 (Ken).

WHAT NOT TO BRING

o GAZEBOS - Unfortunately, we are not permitted to use garden gazebos, so please ignore our earlier request to bring them along.

WHAT’S PROVIDED (MORE THINGS NOT TO BRING)

o DRINK - Crew Ard Righ have kindly sailed to France and back to stock up on wine and Pimms, and something sparkly for the all important toasts

o FOOD – Vol-au-vent, Abacus, Macama (ex-Tiptoe II) and Cleo are organising barbecue food , desert and a celebratory cake

o CUTLERY ETC. – We will provide plastic knives, forks and cups, plus paper plates

o RUBBISH SACKS

WHAT TO BRING

o A fog horn for a 25 blast salute!

o A torch

o Your camera

o Dress flags for your boat (but these should only be worn while stationery, and in theory between dawn and dusk)

o Picnic tables and chairs/cushions

o If you want to contribute something, bring a salad which we can pool for variety.

o Special food for personal consumption, such as gluten-free

o Nice knives, forks, plates, glasses etc, if you prefer a touch of class

o Barbecue tongs, to help out

TIMING SATURDAY

o Daytime arrival

o 1700 Welcome drinks ashore

o 1800 Barbecue commences

o 1900 Speeches by Bill Parker and Seal Sailing Association

o 1930 Cutting of the cake, 25 blast fog-horn salute

o Until late – continuing 25 year celebrations

TIMING - SUNDAY SAIL PAST

(organiser Peter Lowry, Cleo)

o 1015 Yachts proceed up-river

o 1030 Yachts sail past Bill Parker, oldest first

Hi Folks,

Over 100 people have now signed up for this rally. Bill Parker will join us for this grand celebration. Food, drink, barbecue and super weather have all been prepared.
