This probably one of the best drying locations for lifting boats in the south of England
The ground is a gentle slope of hard sand with almost no obstructions other than the odd clump of weed
It is a very popular anchorage, but for lifting keeled boats who can come straight onto the beach it is rarely congested
The high bank of sand dunes provide good protection against winds from the South and West, Probably not so good with the wind from the north or east unless the wind is pretty calm
Approach at 90 degrees to the coast line, drop a kedge anchor someway out then just drive ahead until grounded, then wade out with main anchor
