For anyone facing this task for the first time - I have posted detailed instructions of the task I carried out yesterday, on the Maintenence page at:

Hi Don, great write up.
Can I suggest you add a step checking for corrosion just on the inside of the lip of the cast iron end cap? (ie where the stainless steel ram leaves the housing) We discovered a small amount of corrosion in there ~ nothing major - but left unchecked could have eventually grown to scratch the s/s tube resulting in a new assembly. Nothing a bit of cleaning up & grease couldn't fix.

Anyone intending to carry out a replacement of the anodes may be interested in the cradle diagrams I have received from Roger Roach.

I used the same diagrams when I had the trestles produced for Calypso for winter maintenance.

Anyone interested in the name of the person who produced these - please e-mail me and I'll let you have his contact details. The price was very reasonable (he also made the trestles for my 275)
