last year i brought a seal 22 and now i am trying to find out a bit of info on it.

i have got a sail number of 186 if that helps.

the boat is on the river colne and i think it has been here from new but not 100% sure.

it has had at least one name change.

i have a few pictures and i will try to get them on here if i can find out how to upload them.

The only info we have on 22/186 is that she was called Ruby-Kate owned by L T Dow of Alresford Essex so she certainly started not far from the Colne. She is one of the first Mk III boats (first one 183)

well i have paper work saying it was ruby kate until 1996 and then it changed ownership to a fellow wivenhoe sailing club member in 1996 who called it kalamaki, i brought the boat late summer 2010 from owner number two, i spend most of last summer and the winter doing it up and now it looks great.

it still has its trailer and a watermota super shrimp engine that does still fire up but i use an outboard on it at the moment, it also has a wooden cabin on it that was put on when mr dow brought it new.

so just to update your records (ruby kate ) now kalamaki is owned by me ( fred ) and it is moored in wivenhoe on the river colne.

You mean like a wooden coach roof? That seems a bit odd, was it something he asked John Baker to do? I would like to see some photos of her.

Cheers. Ray.

Hi,

My Seal 22 also has a wooden coach roof, but I do not know who built it other than it was there before Kevin bought it.
