Hi all,

I have a spinny pole on my 22, but I am thinking about carrying a jib stick as well, the pole I have seems a bit long for booming out the genny, any ideas about the best length for a jib stick?

Cheers, Ray.

Ray,

A more technical term for a jib stick is Whisker Pole.

And if you Google "What is the correct length for a Whisker Pole?" you'll be led to:

http://www.forespar.com/whiskerPoleSeminar.shtml  which will answer your question.

Forespar is a long established American company with an excellent reputation in the field of accessories for smaller sailing cruisers; and their products are distributed in the UK by

http://www.improducts.co.uk/brands/forespar/

Of course most spar manufacturers, eg Selden & Z-spars, also offer Whisker Poles, but Forespar's range includes simple telescopic ones that are ideal for smaller cruisers.

Hope this helps.
