I broke a stanchion this weekend at the lower guard rail "hole", worringly it had corroded quite badly. I'm going to replace all of them with replacements from SL yachting but just thought people might like to know (or at least not lean on them!).

I've now got a couple of photo's, not great as it's difficult to capture the powdering. However, I'm not sure how to load them to the site! Any suggestions? Or if you have an email I can send them through. I think the basic problem with the lower hole is that it has a stainless insert.

I recently bought P31/19. the surveyor/insurance co required replacement stanchions. a simple job which grew because the stanchion retaining screws had corroded badly, caused by dissimilar metals. it became necessary to drill out the bases and damage them to the extent that new bases are required.
