Anyone know the gross tonnage for seal 28 lifting keel. I need it for Ofcom

The original brochure I have for my boat says the displacement is 7.200lbs, which I think is 3.21 tons (@ 2240 lbs per ton. If you want metric tons, use 2,205 lbs per ton = 3.26 tons).

Hope this helps.

Gross tonnage is actually a measure of volume and has nothing to do with displacement. Gross and Net tonnage were used for assessing dues on cargo ships, as they related to the space available for cargo.

If it's in connection with a ship radio licence, I can't recall whether I was asked for tonnage when I sorted mine out; and, if so, how I replied. Gross Tonnage does not appear on the ships radio licence itself.

I should think stating 3 tons should be sufficient.
