Would be grateful if anyone with experience of such a Gibb could describe the action of the tailing arm.Does it spring into tailing position ? or how does it operate.Our winch has an arm that is broken off (or has a worn key-end) about half way down the vertical pivot but it is otherwise working well.It is not vital but tempting to consider some 'jury rig' as the hollow tube in which the pivot sits is plainly very strongly mounted and could for instance be drilled to take a split pin thro a metal arm.
