I want to change the table base in the cabin (because it's not nice any more) so I removed the old one. In the hole in the cabinfloor we can see the putty between hull and the cabin floor which is very hard when dried out. But in some areas it's only half dry so the putty here is weak and brittle and it smells like almond (I thought this smell in the boat comes from rests of styrene in the frp but it's definetly this putty).
My questions are:
What kind of putty is it?
Is this smell harmfull?
Is it a structural part of the hull?
How to remove?
What is an alternative to put in there (whithout becomming too hot while drying - it's about 2 inch thick but more than one ist dried out)?
There are not any weak sections, neiher in hull nor in the cabin floor.

Thanks for your answers.

Kind regards from germany,
