http://www.weather-file.com/hurst/  very good for this end of the Solent which could be of interest for Saturday. Copy it into Excel and you can make a graph like Bramblemet.co.uk when it's working :o( Not a forecast but tells you what is actually happening - usually a tad stiffer than the forecasts lately!

What's a WAP site?

See you tomorrow - got your teeny-weeny jib ready?

WAP is a mobile phone web site....I used to use Met office but they now charge.

Looking forward to the weekend.....not looking forward to the 5 hour plus 215 mile drive...leaving at 7 am.....

Hi Folks,

http://www.sealasc.org.uk/surfin '_seals.htm#Weather

Second, and to answer the question, my favourite is www.ecmwf.org . Click on the "free access" link on the bottom left of the page to see wind forecasts from three to ten days ahead. If you see any yellow or green in your sailing area, watch out. You have to remember to look in advance as the site goes not forecast the next two days. I see that this site has dropped off the weather links on our site so I will ask Don to include it in future.

Cheers-Ken

Thanks Ken but it is there as http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/

You can get to, for example, http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/marine/  for the SE.

I am about to go and check all the urls on the Surfin Seals page are still valid.

5 day Met Office synoptic weather charts can be viewed and printed from this site.

http://www.weather.org.uk/charts/thumbs.html

I have found some useful "live" weather sites you can link to these from my club website.

Thanks Mike - I'll put these on the PSSA web site external links page. By the way - tell your web master that some of the weather links don't work (I also have the problem of continually checking the links on our web)

I'm sure there are many sailing associations that have weather links. One of the best is on http://moodyowners.org.uk/MOA/

Try site at 'xcweather' and use 'Data' - winds.

Good breakdown of wind direction and force at 2 hour intervals plus weather f'cast. Shows over several days ahead.

Roger et al

http://www.xcweather.co.uk/  and many other weather links are to be found on the Weather and Other Useful Links page of the PSSA web site.

If you want a really comprehensive choice try the link to

http://www.greatweather.co.uk/  One can spend hours looking at the sites here.

Don

I could'nt find ecmwf.int on the PSSA weather page.

I find it by far the best to see what's coming in 8 days time.

Looking at it now next weekend looks a bit of a write off!

Cheers
