Solent yotties and visitors may know of an eccentric café in Cowes called Eegons. At a recent rally in Cowes there was talk that it may be closed. Alas, that required me to mount an explanatory expedition. After much calorific intake I can report that Eegons is open, alive and well, but in a new location.

New Eegons is no longer eccentric but still serves fine café food. Breakfast prices range from £8.50 to £12. The café is on the first floor and some tables look out over the waterfront, though a roof does block a good part of the view.

To get there, head north along Cowes high street towards the sea. Just as the road starts to bend to the left, before the small hill and by the now closed bank on the right, you will see Cowes combined services and social club. Enter and proceed up the stairs immediately on your right.

Well done Ken, I couldn't find it in the dark!
