While deep into the stern of rascal, my superseal, fitting a replacement water tank I noticed that the lower rudder bracket looked as if there had been some water ingress. A check of the bolts found 2 of the 4 to be loose, so I set about removing them, (slight corrosion and all bent) re-sealing the bracket and fitting new bolts, with nylock nuts. While in the area I also replaced the exhaust pipe sealant.

It's not an area I spend much time on but the state of the bolts was cause for concern and I'm glad a potential problem is now averted.
