This weekend friends of us came to sail with us for the first time. Marcel is working as a technical specialist for a company producing stainless steel high vacuum mixer tanks for pharmaceutical companies. He made some nice additions for Surprise, a water deflector for transom (more or less as described previously by Barry Tiernan in the Mod section), a fixation for the cockpit table to the steering pedestal and a proper adapter for the vhf on the instrument panel at the nav station, covering a oversized hole. Afterward we had a very nice sailing on the Frisian lakes and IJsselmeer.

This winter we are going to fix the slack in the rudder gudgeons and pintles and enlarge the length of the boarding ladder by one step.
