Having just purchased Nimrod, P235 no 42. I have just removed the rudder blade to epoxy the rudder tip but on doing so found a split on the centre line at the top of the rudder blade where the downhill rope is attached. Im going to scrape the damage back and investigate but would like to know if this is this a known problem/has anyone fixed one, are there any particular issues to be aware of.

Hi Jim,

I haven't had a problem like this on Windward 235/9 which we have had for 9 years, I replaced a broken down haul on the rudder and built an extra "harbour" rudder about 5 years ago, I cant think of any issues to be aware of.
