Geoff Harwood, the Association's Technical Librarian is now "on the web" and is prepared to field technical questions by this medium as well as over the phone.

His qualifications for this job are firstly a big box of plans and technical stuff from the John Baker days covering all the Baker boats as well as some years as owner of a Sinbad. He has also studied other people's boats whenever the opportunity presented itself.

I have just purchased a Seal 28 'Fin Keel' version and I am trying to findout if there are any user manuals for the boat that I can purchase. The boat is a 1980 and is currently being treated for osmosis, I am having the whole boat done so whilst she is drying out I would like to get more technical data.

First, are you the Geoff H I worked with or against at harrow? If so, greetings!

No, I don't have a Seal but a friend does and we are looking for a spinnaker for it (her - "Grey Seal", no 24? 1974))

Suggestions? I see the area, but dimensions, if we didn't want a new one? Who is the best maker if we did? Price idea?

In return, I'll tell you what Im doing and sailing....

We are about to lift out for the winter and to ensure the correct placement of the lifting strops I would like to have the dimension from the bow to the front edge of the keel.
