I would really like to have a go with the spinnaker which spends each winter in my loft and each summer in my foc'sle but has never been hoisted. The article in the latest edition of the Newsletter was therefore very welcome. One thing, though. My 28, like a lot of others I have seen, has had the babystay replaced by two forward lower shrouds made up to chainplates on the forward bulkhead. Is it still possible to fly the spinnaker? Can you 'guy' the pole back far enough to set the sail on a dead run?
