I've received this query from Bill Bevington:
quote:
Does anyone know of a seal sinbad called Whimbrel? I think the sail number was something like 268. I was the first owner, and often wonder where she now lives and how she goes!

So does anyone know?

Hi Bill, Iv just bought a seal sinbadfrom ebay ,and looking at the paperwork she was called Whimbrel when new, but had a name change, now called Arctic seal. I bought her as a project, as she has a hole in the side and deck, and a snapped mast. I bought her from Scarborough, and moved her onto my back lane to do the work. I hope to sail her in Llansteffan, west wales when she is finished. At the moment I have a 1977 seal 28, but i wanted a trailer sailor as number 1 deck hand, and son, is leaving to join the army.

The plot thickens!! We used to have another Whimbrell (2x"L"s) which changed to Arctic Seal and went to Poole in 2005 She was 353 which was also the sail number of Cinnamon, still with us in Devon!

Sinbad 368 is also called Whimbrel (1xL) and was on the Exe when last we heard.
