Since most of you 27/275/285ers have the little Yannie you should get into www.ybw.com  and see the thread on the PBO forum about water pump leaks.

It's a very useful forum anyway!

Thanks for the link. In my experience the water pump shaft needs frequent replacement (every 300 hrs I reckon)in a 275 because we tend to work in shallow, gritty water from time to time. The good news is that the lower lube oil pipe is now available in non-rusting metal, which avoids the oil pressure failure problem!

just a little info for all

yes i agree with you, i have replaces the shaft for the second time in the 5 years that i have owned CLEO

the cost was £65 from yanmar at Burseldon(top of Hamble

and not too difficult to replace.

the mechanics in Marine power are very helpful and let me use their vice to hold the fitting and were helpful in the correct way to remove and reloace the seals etc.
