Hi All,

Last year we purchased Seal mark 1 Sealesta with the shrouds that attach to a rearward position of the mast but on the face of it don't give a significant rearward component of force on the mast. This concerns us that if we are flying a Spinnaker or running in a strong wind we may be susceptible to the mast moving forward in an uncontrolled fashion/collapsing.

I was wondering if anyone has ever had problems with the mast moving or tried modifying this design with a backstay/additional support for the mast and if they have any advice for us?

Thanks in advance for your assistance

Maurice/Sealesta.

I have a backstay on Faid Knot which is attached to a fitting on top of the mast. unfortunately it got bent due to my enthusiastic mast banding so will take the mast down in a few weeks to repair. I will try to photograph it when removed.

Hi Trevor,

How are you, yes that would be great if you could send me some photos. Do you know how yours was done?

Thanks in advance.
