Information/comments please :

Has anybody fitted a manual windlass to a Parker Super Seal MK II or 27.If so,and assuming that it had to be fitted behind the standard locker has it nevertheless proved useful.Having 50M warp and only 16M of 8mm chain it may be a mixed blessing ? The 14mm octoplait warp does feed thro the hawse pipe inside the locker but its easier to dump it under the lid with the chain than to feed it to the lower 'chamber' every time.

Has anybody fitted a Lewmar type double bow roller (66840008) ,for instance on the stbd.side of the forestay,in order to clear a furler drum,so that a suitable anchor can be carried insitu on the roller, leaving the locker to store the length of warp/chain normally used.

Radical but has anyone altered the locker by say removing the flap to make their system work.

All comments welcome.

My P27 appears to have had an Simpson Lawrence ‘Model 442 Anchorman Vertical’ manual anchor windlass c/w RC170 [7 pocket] chain/rope gypsy for any 8mm calibrated chain installed from new.

I have yet to use it...
