Have just tried to fit an eye to our 275 mast for a whisker pole and firstly the eye itself did not fit the contour of the mast and secondly the pole end was too big for the 30ml fitting!! Does and one know what shape our mast is on a 275 and where can we find an eye that might fit? Seldon seem to have some larger eyes but we need to know what mast we have.

The existing spinnaker eye is too high on the mast to use for the whisker pole.

Many thanks jennie

My superseal, rascal has a track on the front of the mast with a sliding fitting, so whether you are poling out a genoa, cruising chute or spinnaker in whatever weather the pole can be fitted in the right position and adjusted if needed.

Is it worth talking to Z-Spars? I think the mast section model number for a 275 is Z265...but they would know. They'd probably have an eye that would fit too

We have the same situation on Delphine - a fixed eye for the spinnaker that's too high for the whisker pole. However, we use the whisker pole in the spinnaker eye and, even though the pole slopes down from the mast, it's still effective at holding the jib out. The shape of the foresail would undoubtedly be improved with a lower eye, but it's still more effective than not using the whisker pole at all...
