I replied to your 27 question first, but partially answered this one as well.
My 26 still has some of the well in place under the cockpit, but it would be a lot of work to restore. If you are buying there are still several 26's about with outboards, either well or stern mounted. Mistral, see the For Sale section has a well mounted outboard.
