I think I need to invest in a Trailer for my 235 but am unsure of what capacity and weight I need to specify.

Could someone be kind enough to post the details from the rating plate on their trailer please ?

Or if anyone is thinking of selling their trailer, please get in touch (long shotI know) !

My twin axle trailer made by RM trailers (no longer in business) has a gross weight of 2000kg and capacity of 1300kg

I know a bit about towing but not the 235.

I would recommend a twin axle trailer of 2000kg. "Invest" may a good term to use as they seem to be hard to get hold of; I am looking one myself!
Beware of sellers on who claim to be on islands like Jersey or the Scottish isles and who seem determined to get you to pay for delivery up front.

I see also on the fleet page that a single axle trailer was available for £1,600 in 2002. I would go for a twin axle for greater stability whether towing or not.
£1,200 to £2,000 seems to be the going rate but new ones from SBS are about £3,000. SBS would also advise you well if you went for a new one.

If you end up getting one made, Geoff Harwood had a really good idea when he had P21 Cygnus - a two-part main fore and aft strut, so the keel can be lowered between the 2 parts when the boat's on the trailer (if there's a bit of a hole in the ground underneath!) Makes antifouling the keel a whole lot easier.

I agree with the recommendations for a 2000 kg gross weight limit. A limit of 1800 kg is sufficient but it allows little scope for leaving kit on board while towing - although it is best to put the weight in the vehicle anyway. Mine is a single-axle trailer, which is wonderfully manoeuvrable, but 1800 kg is the maximum for a single axle.

Be aware that the vehicle has to have a towing limit at least as high as the maximum gross weight marked on the trailer's plate - even if the actual weight is lower.
