Hello, I am looking to replace the keel hoist rope on my 235 and was wondering if there is specific rope type that I should purchase. The manual states 8mm 12.5M white braided but there appears to wide range of options so would appreciate any advice. Also the keel end of the rope is terminated with a stopper knot, is this as per original or should it be via a spliced eye and a shackle.

Many thanks

Hello Zander,

It's fine to use standard polyester braid - just search for 'braid on braid' or 'double braid'. With the six-part purchase, the tension in the line is well within the SWL. Mine also has a stopper knot, at the deck fitting beside the top triple-block.
