This year is the 50th anniversary of the PSSA. We believe the anniversary rally and celebrations on the South coast went well and are now turning our attention to the East coast rallies. The first of these is to the North Norfolk coast from 30th June to 2nd July and Phill Smith has posted details in the calendar section of the website. Please view these if you are interested in joining the rally. However, the nominated organiser, Phill, has had to pull out and no one has volunteered to deputise. Currently there are four boats that have expressed an interest in joining the rally and we suggest that the owners correspond with each other to make arrangements. If you are interested in joining this rally please add your name to the list on the website so that others can get in contact with you.
Next is the Orford rally over the weekend 8th-9th July. Again, the organiser, Chris Day has posted details on the calendar section of the website and you are invited to add your name to the list of participants if this rally appeals to you. Chris would also appreciate you dropping him a line to express your interest.
Over the weekend of 15th-16th July, Nicola and Martin Gray are hosting a rally in the Medway with an overnight stop at Medway Yacht Club on the Saturday night. Again please sign up on the website if you are interested in joining this rally and drop them a line expressing your interest –
elmhouse@elmhouse9.plus.comBetween the Orford rally and the Medway rally we (Anne and Dennis Kell on Arenaria) are going to make our way south stopping at various locations en route. Possible overnight stopping points are the Walton Backwaters, a location on the River Blackwater and/or River Colne, then the River Crouch/Roach (possibly using the Ray Sand channel) and finally on to the Medway, possibly stopping in Queenborough or Stangate Creek. You are welcome to join us on any part of this rally and the overnight stops will be dictated partly by those who want to participate. The best way to express your interest is to write directly to the Kells at
ankle27519@gmail.com .
We hope that as many East coast members as possible can join us for at least one, if not all, of the rallies to celebrate the 50th anniversary. Those from further afield are more than welcome to join us too. We look forward to seeing you on the water.
