i have now put rudder photos on site. a bit of tidying to do.

A longer bolt was used with a close fitting SS tube enclosing it beyond main SS stock. The locknut was tightened on this. Various washers were used to open a gap between the two rudders.

the new rudder pivots around the tube.

the pivot hole in the ply rudder is lined with plastic tube epoxied in.

SS plate glued and bolted through around pivot hole for strength

That's a very nice swing-drop rudder. Mine is a relatively "cheap & nasty" version but it works fine. I've put it on the "other technical" branch because it'e applicable to all the transom mounted rudders on Seals, Super Seals and Parkers.
