At the weekend I raced from Dartmouth round the Skerries Bank buoy and home to Exmouth. Distance was about 25 miles, time taken about 4 hours 30 minutes, wind SW-W 2-4 mainly against the tide. It was a short windward leg then a spinnaker run that gradually became a close reach as the wind swung round a bit. On the water we were first ahead of a Stag 32, Sadler 34, Moody 31S, and Sadler 25.

Due to handicapping we were beaten by the Stag 32 and the Sadler 25.

I thought that reflected well on a boat that is only 27.5 feet long.

She went really well and even the minor broaches were well mannered.

Anyone else do any handicap racing? I am sailing off 1016 which is a compromise between the PSSA suggested PN (986) and the Byron number (1045)
