hi

Does anyone have any experience of fitting an inner forestay to a Parker 285

I have decided that a conventional hanked on storm jib is the best option,

I envisage it being able to be removed and held at the mast.

Also does anyone know the thickness of the saloon floor?

I am fitting a marine carpet and the manufacturers use 'poppers' although i may use velcro.

regards

Hi Charles

The floor is pretty thick being essentially a slab of cast iron ballast. Not sure how thick.

I got over carpet issue by buying B&Q bathroom carpet which has a rubber backing that clings to the steel - works very well and is dirt cheap!

Hope this helps.

Hi Charles

Haven't worked out how to hoist my storm jib yet but have replaced the carpet. I used double sided tape to stick down vinyl. Now wish I had used bathroom carpet as it would be better purchase when the boat is tipping!
