Can anyone help? Will Seal 28 built in 1979 have a Hull ID number and if so where would it be?

It is supposed to be at the bottom of the main bulkhead, under the stbd saloon settee, but my boat doesn't have one. She is a 1977 boat. I only know her number because I have her original mainsail!
