As an ex-Nottingham man and a one time employee of The Boots Company I was amazed to moor for lunch last Sunday in the Western Isles at Glenborrodale beneath this castle (see picture!).

This country estate was once owned by Jesse Boot and he would meet with his friends including Tommy Sopwith and race their 12m yachts around the West Coast!

Can't escape your roots!
