I'm about to order a second anchor and am considering either an Ankerline or Liros line - these are weighted and save using a chain fore-runner, so they will be easier to stow as a spare.

The sizes quote breaking strains, ie 12mm breaks at 1600kilos or 14mm at 2000 kilos, etc.

What does a 235 sensibly need to be on the safe side?

Has anyone good or bad experiences of Liros or Ankerline anchorlines?

Depending on which article or manual you read it is reckoned the safe working load for rope is about 20 or 30% of the breaking load.

First look at the anchor literature and see what is supposed to be the "dragging" load for that model. Cross check with the recent Yachting Monthly test for an independent view. That should give you the answer. No point in having rope with a SWL much larger than the operating parameters of the anchor!!
