Just had my 6hp Honda 4 stroke serviced and a new anode....

Very happy with the service but is the price about right...???

Cost was £170.00

They said the impeller wasn't fitted right .......!!! this was it's first service ....

My last service of my 2 y.o. Honda 6hp in October cost £124, so sounds in the same ball park.

Tempting to do it myself and not worry about the warranty.

My Merc 4st 5hp is supposed to be serviced every 100 hours or once a year. Since my annual total is usually about 10 hours I compromise by having it done every 2 years. The last 10 mins each year is up the river to the crane so it gets a good fresh rinse before lifting out. The anode seems to need replacing each year though. The prices quoted seem to be about par!

£170? I think that justifies my decision to go with the Tohatsu Saildrive 6HP! It costs less to buy than the Honda, is lighter, and being single cylinder it should be simple enough to service it myself.
