What is the race on the Sunday all about ..."Final Race of the Rutland Water Race-Intro Series."

Is it a RSC event ?? Or a PSSA event..?

I see we can't do the tour of the Kirton Factory and the race...!!!

Anyone booked yet or planning to take there 235 ??

So ..... Is anyone going....

Why has a race and the factory been organised at the same time on the same day ??

We are wanting to attend for the weekend....but don't want to turn up and be the only ones there.

Are the boats being left afloat over night or do they need to be pulled out ...? If afloat will they be on a pontoon or swinging mooring .(do we need a dinghy ?)

I have had a bit more info through. We will be coming on the Friday to set up, but we only live 40 mins away so we will go home and return Sat morning. We are looking forward to sailing with some other 235's.

Hi Paul,

Sorry you have not had your questions answered, but we have been sailing Blue Jazz around the Solent area for the last three weeks and just got back.

With regards the Race Intro Series, it is a series of races run through the season at the sailing club to encourage 235s to start a racing fleet. The last of these races will be on the Sunday of our rally and the overall wining 235 will receive a cup sponsored and presented by Bill Parker. If you would like to join in with the last race just for the fun, I will asked the race organisers if this would be ok ? Please let me know.

It seems their is little demand for the factory tour, most people having been before, so not sure if this will happen.

I am glad to hear you are planning on joining us for the weekend. It sounds like their may be about eight boats in total.

I will be there from Friday afternoon and through out the weekend.

I think you will be able to leave your boat on the pontoon for the weekend. I will check and let you know.

Have you sent in your form to the office at Rutland, if not please do as soon as possible. You can download it from the Events section of the web site.

Please feel free to ask any questions, if I don`t know the answers I will do my best to find out.

Look forward to meeting everyone, about 40 people for the Saturday evening Buffet I think.

Regards

Hi Paul,

You can sail untill about 19.00hrs at the moment, but thier is no saftey boat cover on fridays.

When you arrive with your boat it is best to park in the lane and then we can hold open the automatic barrier so that it does not close on to your boat as you pass through. Do you know the approximate time you will be arriving ? I will be arriving some time on Friday but not sure of work commitments at present. If you would like to call me on the number on the forms, we can exchange mobile numbers so that you can call me on arrival and I will help you in.

Looking forwards to the weekend.
