I've been cleaning my 235, now out of the water after a season afloat, and there are ingrained grey marks where, for instance, the control lines cross the deck and also where rain runs off the deck down the hull adjacent to each stanchion.

These don't appear to want to come off with normal detergent and sponge, nor with jet-washing, so I wondered what cleaning products people find best?

There are lots out there, at all sorts of prices, yet I know a trusted boating friend who says nothing beats Jif! (now Cif!).

So, what do people use?

Also on the hull for the last 10 years I have used a combination cutting paste and polish from Farecla--brilliant!

But on a hull less than 1 year old a cutting paste shouldn't be needed..

I have some Neilsen Gold which is a fantastic car polish, I've used it for years on Caterham 7's and the like, and I spoke with the manufacturers on Friday who said it is just a suitable for polishing a boat hull, so I'll use that on the smooth bits!
