Having done the antifouling on Tarakhi for the first time this year, we too removed the mudguards for "easier?!" access. However, it was not that satisfactory and anyway to do the keel and the parts covered by the trailer it was necessary to have the boat lifted. We have now decided to have a winter storage cradle made so that can get to the keel and antifoul without a struggle. Has anyone had such a cradle made and/or does anyone have the necessary "hull" profiles for the cradle. The latter are time consuming to take off the boat. The trailer might provide a template for the stern cradle but the forward one is more problematic.
Incidentally, we have now had our first sail and Tarakihi goes very well - the only problem is remembering which bit of string does what and getting fit enough to haul up the keel which is very strength sapping. Perhaps I'm getting too old!
Thanks
